For more than two decades, Mountain Traditions has stood for craftsmanship, character, and the enduring beauty of the mountains.

Born in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Mountain Traditions began as a small gallery — built by hand, one piece at a time — sharing artwork that captured the real spirit of mountain life. Not the polished “Western” image, but the authentic one: work boots, sawdust, and grit.

That same philosophy drives everything we do today.

Our collections feature limited-edition bronze sculptures by renowned Western sculptor Mark Hopkins, known for his storytelling in bronze and his ability to capture moments of faith, courage, and Western life. Over the years we’ve had the privilege of working closely with Mark, sharing ideas and inspiration behind several pieces and helping bring new works into the world for collectors and admirers of Western art.

Alongside sculpture, Mountain Traditions also offers handcrafted license plate wall art, created from authentic recycled U.S. license plates. Each piece is shaped and assembled by hand, preserving the dents, scratches, and character earned on the road. These pieces bring humor, personality, and Americana into garages, cabins, homes, and gathering spaces.

We also feature fine art giclée prints from respected Western artists including Martin Grelle and Nancy Glazier, whose work reflects the landscapes, wildlife, and traditions of the American West.

Every piece we offer is chosen with purpose. These aren’t mass-produced decorations — they are pieces meant to last, to be talked about, and to carry a story with them.

That spirit started with my father — a small-town shop owner who believed in hard work and doing things right. His example laid the foundation for everything we build today.
